He craved a sense of meaning that life so fundamentally lacked so every room he entered. He wanted to bring that meaning in people’s lives. He wanted to be at the center of attention. Sometimes, he wished that a camera-man would follow everywhere he went, record his every expression and each of his actions. What is the magnitude of anything that we do if no one is watching? They say every action has a direct or inverse consequence but a human mind can not possibly grasp at it any way. So, why bother?

But he did. He bothered a lot. He always tried to do the right thing. He could always feel that the invisible audience watching him. Every scene he entered, every sight he witnessed, every minute detail around him was self-referential. He was the master of the Universe he had created. He was the arbitrator of his own actions. He was of the belief that anything bad coming his way was a lesson that carved him into a warrior, the likes of which were remarkably adjacent to Alexandar or Caesar. The trials were a test of his patience, the rewards that awaited him were worth fighting for. and the good that happened to him was always well-deserved.

He was at the core of the Universe. He was a force to be reckoned with. Each morning he woke up at the same 8 a:m and ate the cereal he’d worked so hard to be able to afford. He no longer needed a bus for commute for he’d got himself a car. He knew all the pleasantries and the people at work loved him. He knew what the boss wanted and he was certain that he’d be employee of the month this year. He was triumphant at this game called life finally. And he had found love.

But he was the only man on the Earth. He walked the Earth by himself. He had the headphones covering his ears all the time. He loved the Beatles but most people had forgotten them now. He wished people weren’t so shallow. He had put them in the background long ago because they didn’t satisfy him. He was the protagonist and everyone on the backseat only watching. But did they realise how insignificant they all were? Did they realise they didn’t matter at all? Did they realise that he was the only man on Earth?
